"If you like-a me like I like-a you and we both like . . . I'd like to say, this very day . . ." is part of the lyrics of a popular song written before 1911. Can anyone tell me the name of this song, who wrote it, and/or who sang it? Thank you very much.

Found it! "Under the Bamboo Tree" was written by 1902 by Cole and Johnson for their vaudeville act. In 1944, Judy Garland sang it in the movie "Meet Me in St. Louis."

And in 1951 Mario Lanza and Ann Blythe sang a snatch of "Under the Bamboo Tree" in the movie "The Great Caruso."
