I may have erased the last post I had sent you....YES the sung was sung both in English and Italian......Sole Sole Sole love me in the sunlight.......luna luna luna love me in the moonlight..afternoon and dont forget about the twillight...Any kind of skylight ......is the light for love....Bacci Bacci Bacci Kiss me in the summer.......
I dont recall the song being sung by a duet.... I always believed that it was sung by Connie Francis.....Connie Stevens .......Vicki Carr......Eydie Gormet....a recording female recording artist from the late 50's to the mid to late 60's ....remember I was about 10 yrs old.....It doesnt mean that it was not played on the radio by other artist.....So please bear with me......I DO appreciate your time........

You ended up deleting the whole thread. Regardless, are you absolutely sure it was NOT Sarah Vaughan? Is you memory clear on that? And if in english and not a duet, then it's not Laura Villa either.

First my apologies for deleting the whole thread I was trying to delete the first half of my posts...The lyrics I provided you with demonstrates that the song was sung simultaneously in English and Italian......so I dont understand your question.......I am certain that it was not her Sarah Vaughan.....Not the version I remember.....the voice was not hers......The voice sounded more like the artists I mentioned Eydie Gorme .......Connnie Francis.....Vicki Carr......

Hi Pete,

I actually posted the information you mentioned on the deleted thread plus much more including a song clip of Sarah Vaughan - Sole Sole. For some reason, the song titled was edited in 1964 to "Sole Sole" The singer could be Laura Villa. She presented the song at the Italian Festival of Sanremo in 1964.

I'd be curious to hear the Laura Villa version myself but I'm not confident it's the one Linda is looking for as she doesn't remember it as a "duet" (in San Remo '64 the song was with Hermanos Rigual) and she remembers english lyrics. I have the "San Remo Festival" 1958 to 1964 finalists album on cd-r and not one sings in english, not even Paul Anka. I really don't know anyone else besides Sarah Vaughan who sang it both alone and in english. Later, I'll check the pile of Italian albums and cds my mother has.

I played both versions of the song Sole Sole Sole......which in fact the title was changed to sole sole Sarah Vaughan version......neither artist is the one I remember played on the radio when I was a kid......I believe it is possible that it was the Laura Villa version......from what I remember whatever artist was played on the radio.....was quite frequently.....I am going to look into Domenico Modugno.....:)

I checked my mothers Italian music collection and though I did not find the song by Laura Villa, I did find it by "Los Hermanos Rigual" from the same 1964 San Remo festival. So if he sung it alone, maybe Laura Villa did too. The question is, did she sing any parts in english as you remember? You might just have to take a chance and buy the record.

Other Sole Sole songs I found and ruled out were by
Nina Gualdi
Marion Rung

I ended up finding "Sole Sole Sole" by Laura Villa in my moms collection. Unfortunately, she's not who you are looking for. She sings it all in Italian, not one word of english in it. If you'd like to hear a clip anyways, let me know.
